gnome-specimen software package provides Simple font preview and compare application for GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-specimen
gnome-specimen is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-specimen package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-specimen *
You will get with gnome-specimen package name, version, architecture and description in a table
